Personalised Football Card

This Football birthday card includes the receiving child’s name and is therefore so much more personal. Children love things that are especially just for them so I’ve always found personalised cards to be a big hit both with the parents and children.

How to make:

Download the Football Crazy background paper by clicking on this link Football crazy background paper and then print it out.

You will need Adobe Reader to open background paper file, if you do not have Adobe Reader you can download it free from this link to the official Adobe website: Adobe Reader Free Download.

The image should print out to just the right size for the wording to frame the football kit embellishment when it is mounted on the front of the image but the size may vary with different printers. If necessary adjust the print size and re-print.

Using the craft knife, mat and ruler cut out the wording frame so you are left with a small white border around the words, the resulting rectangle should measure around 7.5cm x 10cm. Using double sided sticky tape stick the wording frame centrally onto the card blank. Using sticky foam pads mount the England football kit paper embellishment to the centre of the wording frame.

Place the red Happy Birthday peel off sticker sheet on to your craft mat and with your craft knife carefully cut the joins between one of the the ‘Happy’ and ‘Birthday’ wordings to allow you to use the two words separately. Measure and cut out a rectangle from the white card that measures 7.5cm x 1.25cm and then stick the red Happy Birthday words to it. Using sticky foam pads stick the newly created Happy Birthday banner to the top left of the card.

Punch out a number of squares from the red and from the white card using the regular square craft punch. It will depend on what name you wish to put on the card as to how many squares you need. Using letters from the black upper case alphabet peel off sheet apply the first letter of the name to the centre of a white square. Next stick the second letter to the centre of a red square and continue alternating the colours until you have the full name.

To finish the card use sticky foam pads to stick the letter squares along the bottom of the card spelling out the name. It will depend on how long the name is as to how you space the squares. Here the last letter was placed on the far right hand side and then each letter from there to the beginning of the name. It works well as it balances well with the name being more over to the right as it is opposite to the Happy Birthday being placed on the top left of the card.

You will be able to fit a name of up to 7 characters long and possibly even one of 8 characters if you leave little or no gap between each letter square.
